GREAT deal for Britain on Brexit

This nation faces a tough fight in the negotiations we are now entering into with the European Union. These negotiations will determine the freedom of our economy, the flexibility of our trade with the rest of Europe, where we will be able to work, and how we can welcome the people we need to come to work in this country without uncontrollable immigration. It may determine the types of jobs our children are doing in ten years’ time and the success of the City as a global centre of finance.

Boost jobs and growth

During her time in office from 2010-2015, unemployment in Mary's constituency fell by 38% and youth unemployment fell by a massive 49% over the same period. Coupled with the fact that over 9,400 new businesses started and we saw record numbers of apprentices, the outlook for this part of West London looks good - but there is always more we can do.

Better local deal on Heathrow

I am not anti-aviation - I want us to have a world-class aviation industry in the UK and I acknowledge that there are many benefits from our proximity to Heathrow. However, we cannot ignore the negative impact on residents, schools and organisations in the local area.

Provide more affordable homes

I would like to see affordable homes included in every new development locally and will work with the Council if elected to try to make this happen.

Improve transport

As the constituency continues to attract new businesses and housing developments, so the pressure on the transport infrastructure increases. There are some improvements on the way in the long term that may help to ease this and I intend to work hard with all the parties involved to bring these forward wherever possible.

Tackle crime

Overall crime figures for the Hounslow borough are good but we must not be complacent as we continue to face threats ranging from anti-social behaviour to terrorist threats..

Cervical cancer

Mary is a strong supporter of Jo's Trust, the charity supporting women with cervical cancer and their families and recently raised money for them while artic sledging with huskies!

Supporter of women in business

I have been the Patron of the London Women's Forum since 2014 and am a strong supporter of women in business.

During my time in Parliament, I was also instrumental in the creation of a new Select Committee for Women and Equalities.

London Air Ambulance

During her time in Parliament, Mary campaigned for more funding for the London Air Ambulance and was successful in achieving £1.25m additional funding from the Chancellor to support the acquisition of a second helicopter for the charity - a vital service for residents across London.
